🔧 Setup
To fully participate in the Roots ecosystem on Berachain testnet, you need to set up your wallet properly. Follow these steps to get started:
1. Install a Wallet
You can use Metamask, Rabby, or other compatible wallets. Download and install the wallet extension for your browser from the respective websites:

2. Create a New Wallet
- Open the wallet extension.
- Click on "Get Started."
- Follow the prompts to create a new wallet.
- Securely save your seed phrase.
3. Add Bartio Testnet to Your Wallet
- Click on the network dropdown at the top of the wallet interface.
- Select "Add Network."
- Enter the following details:
- Network Name: Berachain Bartio
- New RPC URL: https://bartio.rpc.berachain.com/ (opens in a new tab)
- Chain ID: 80084
- Currency Symbol: BERA
- Block Explorer URL: https://bartio.beratrail.io/ (opens in a new tab)
Save the network and switch to Bartio Testnet.
Advanced: Use Your Own RPC
For enhanced performance and security, you may prefer to use your own RPC endpoint. You may get your own private key from Alchemy's Berachain RPC (opens in a new tab).
- Sign up for an Alchemy account.
- Create a new app and select Berachain as the network.
- Use the provided RPC URL in place of the default one.
4. Fund Your Wallet with BERA Tokens
- Visit the Berachain Faucet (opens in a new tab).
- Follow the instructions to obtain BERA tokens for the Bartio Testnet.
5. Connect Your Wallet to Roots
- Visit the Roots dApp.
- Click on "Connect Wallet."
- Select your wallet (e.g., Metamask, Rabby) from the options provided.
- Approve the connection request in your wallet.
- Verify your wallet connection by checking the wallet address displayed in the Roots dApp interface.
